Abstract
Building Integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) is an option which offers renewable energy production and environmental friendly technology in the situation of actually increasing energy demand and threatening climate changes. When building materials are replaced by BIPV, new challenges to be solved appear. We discuss various aspects which are specific in BIPV in comparison with standard ground installed photovoltaics. Results obtained by simulation and experimental measurements related to the BIPV operation are also presented.
