Abstract

As the most frequent eating disorders among adolescents and young people are anorexia and bulimia. Anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa may lead to many anomalies in the functioning of the whole organism. Skin is the first organ to manifest abnormalities characteristic of eating disorders. The aim of this study is to prove that a cosmetologist, apart from cosmetological care and alleviating skin symptoms resulting from anorexia and bulimia, can also play a role of a health and nutrition educator. Due to the above, a cosmetologist may effectively minimize the risk of occurrence of eating disorders among their customers.
