Abstract

Bicylindrical coordinates are defined and related to Cartesian coordinates. We consider geometries where two parallel cylinders are external to each other, where one is inside the other, and also when they overlap. Useful sums and integrals in bicylindrical coordinates are derived. Solutions of Laplace's equation are given, also in degenerate bicylindrical coordinates (touching cylinders).
