Abstract

Chapter 2 aims to introduce geometric concepts and computational tools required to model geometries of products. In the chapter, we (1) review the theoretical fundamental on computer graphics, geometric modelling, and computer vision, (2) discuss the roles of computers in geometric modelling, (3) learn basic modelling techniques including drafting, wireframe modelling, surface modelling, solid modelling, and feature-based modelling, and (4) use computer software tools for geometric modelling.
