Abstract
The aim: to investigate in vitro the antimicrobial effect and diffusion against Enterococcus faecalis АТСС 29212 of intracanal medication. The medications were: 1 3 sodium hypochlorite, 2 5,25 sodium hypochlorite, 3 2 chlorhexidine solution, 4 0,05 chlorhexidine solution. The medications were tested using the traditional agar diffusion test. The samples were placed over the BrainHeart Agar, and the zones of inhibition of microbial growth were measured after the incubation period. Results: 1 3 Sodium hypochlorite 21 2.4 mm, 2 5.25 Sodium Hypochlorite 27 2,04 mm 3 2 chlorhexidine Solution 20 1.7 mm, 4 0.05 chlorhexidine Solution 11 1.8 mm. Conclusion: the medications based on 5,25 and 3 sodium hypochlorite have a pronounced antibacterial effect against Enterococcus faecalis.
