Abstract

Modern advances in neonatal care has resulted in the survival of smaller and more premature infants in the United States and increased the incidence for retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). Although prematurity is the major risk factor, not all premature infants develop ROP and the degree of ROP is variable. This chapter reviews the differential diagnosis, evaluation, management, treatment, and prognosis of ROP.
