Introduction

Abstract The title of this short book borrows from those of the White Paper, A Revised Framework for Insolvency Law, which preceded the 1985/86 reform of insolvency law, and, more recently, the Insolvency Service’s May 2016 consultation paper, A Review of the Corporate Insolvency Framework. The book is an examination of the purposes of English corporate insolvency law and the various rules and procedures for dealing with insolvent companies under the Insolvency Act 1986.
