Abstract
In view point of the basic research for the enzyme properties and the development of utilization of lipase, a thermophilic fungus which could produce a remarkable amount of thermostable, alkalistable and extracellular lipase has been isolated from the compost soil. The taxonomical characteristics of this thermophilic fungus were examined and it was identified as Humicola lanuginosa S-38.
