Abstract
Hypertension: consecutive blood pressure (BP) readings of ≥ 140/90 on more than one occasion at least 4 hours apart. Hypertension occurring pre-pregnancy or before 20 weeks’ gestation. New-onset hypertension occurring ≥ 20 weeks’ gestation. New-onset hypertension occurring ≥ 20 weeks’ gestation with significant proteinuria of ≥ 0.3g/24 hour. Do not use: Use any of the following (in combination if necessary): Multisystem disorder in pregnancy of unknown aetiology characterized by the presence of hypertension and proteinuria. It can become rapidly progressive and affects both the mother and fetus.
