Abstract

A table of the relevant physicochemical properties of benzene and toluene are presented and the most important solvent properties of both solvents for chemical and electrochemical analysis are discussed. Examples of electrochemical analysis in benzene and toluene are given. The most common impurities found in commercial benzene and toluene are listed and recommended purification procedures are presented.
