Abstract

There are many opinions about what makes a successful financial planner. Certainly a keen mastery of content areas such as estate planning, investments, taxation, and so on, are vital components to any planner's effectiveness. Education is the key to leveling the field not only for the planner but also for the clients. The financial planner had the knowledge of insurance as well as the demonstrated competency that had a direct benefit to the client. This education gained the trust of the client when the planner provided great advice, and the client now has the knowledge of the capabilities of their planner. They understand that planning is comprehensive and their planner has their best interests in mind. In the future, this planner will be the first call when issues and questions arise, a desired position to which any planner should aspire.
