Abstract

HTML (Hypertext Markup Language) is an application of SGML (Standard Generalized Markup Language). It is the collection of tags and their attributes that is used to create documents on the World Wide Web. HTML documents are plain-text files that can be stored on a web server and made available to the public. Web browsers like Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator, Opera, or Lynx interpret tags within HTML documents and display the contents (text, images, or objects) of those tags on your computer screen.
