Abstract

Thus the Indicative Price Plan can be constructed partly upon the basis of putting together all possible existing individual plans about purchases and sales and partly upon the central construction of future supply-demand relationships from other evidence in those sections of the economy where individual quantitative plans do not exist or are inadequate. In this respect an Indicative Price Plan may have an advantage over a System of Forward Markets in that the former can, whereas the latter cannot, supplement the putting together into a coherent whole of distinct individual plans with the sort of guessing about the future which is best done-indeed in some cases solely feasible-as a central operation.1
