Abstract
Let us recall that nonequilibrium thermodynamics is a field theory at a macroscopic and phenomenological level, which deals with states and processes in systems lying beyond equilibrium (either by a large amount, or close to equilibrium), with equilibrium being characterized as the state where there are no temporal modifications of the state variables and the fluxes of dynamical quantities through the frontiers of the system vanish. Nonequilibrium thermodynamics is mainly related to transport and relaxation phenomena and steady states in continuum media, as well as to how the steady states are obtained, their stability, and the accompanying relaxation phenomena. These keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
