Convolvulus arvensis L., field bindweed ( Convolvulaceae ).

The defoliating moth Tyta luctuosa (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) and the gall mite Aceria malherbae (Trombidiformes: Eriophyidae) have been released against the field bindweed Convolvulus arvensis in Canada, but only A. malherbae is known to be established. This chapter presents a brief information on the weed status in Canada, followed by a short background on previous studies, review of the application of biological control in these programmes, an evaluation of the biological control efforts and future needs in research or implementation activities.
