Abstract

Various software testing modalities are introduced, including informal testing, formal testing, automated testing, unit testing, branch testing, functional testing, performance testing, load testing, stress testing, integration testing, regression testing, and acceptance testing. The use of test plans, test cases, and test data is described and demonstrated to facilitate automated, reusable, defensible testing protocols. Testability principles that can facilitate more testable software are described.
