Abstract

The anticholinesterase neostigmine is first choice as the reversal agent of intense neuromuscular blockade. Adequate recovery of neuromuscular blockade at the end of and beyond surgery can only be substantiated by monitoring neuromuscular transmission and assessing clinical signs of recovery.
