Abstract

Requirements are central to the IT system or solution because they are directly determined by the solution’s goals. The primary deliverable of the requirements development process is stakeholder validation of all the requirements specified in the document. The resulting solution requirements specification (SRS) is a document that completely describes what the proposed system should do without describing how the system will do it. To reduce many of the risks, prototyping emerged as an effective means of achieving the goals of requirements development. With dynamic systems development methodology (DSDM), teams avoid a protracted requirements definition and analysis period by quickly defining the baseline, high-level requirements. The unified development process, or unified software development process, is a widely used system development methodology today. Requirements management tools enable teams to efficiently gather requirements, track them, manage requirements, and measure success.
