Abstract

The microclimate within clothing, i.e., temperature and relative humidity between the human skin and clothings, is one of the most important factors for wear comfort. The microclimate within clothings isinfluenced by the transfer properties of moisture and heat through clothing materials.Not only many factors of clothing properties, physiological and environmental conditions are related to the microclimate within clothing, but aslo these mechanism of their properties have not been clear sufficiently.A simulator of the microclimate within clothings is developed to analyze the transfer mechanism of moisture and heat through clothing materials. This simulator is able to measure the microclimate within clothing at the same time under the artificial conditions of temperature and relative humidity, clothing state and the sweating state.
