This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: (1) For people with filariasis, to assess the effects of: (a) albendazole alone; (b) adding albendazole to diethylcarbamazine or ivermectin. (2) In community control programmes for filariasis, to assess the effects of: (a) albendazole alone; (b) adding albendazole to diethylcarbamazine or ivermectin.
