Abstract

Abstract Asexuality is a mode of reproduction that, unlike sexual reproduction, occurs without meiosis and the fusion of gametes. Its consequence is multiplication and conservation of the genotype in the offspring. In protozoa, asexual reproduction occurs by cell division.
