Abstract

During 1982 a number of modifications and improvements were made to the Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron (DESY) at Hamburg ( DESY Journal No 3/4 December 1982). DORIS, the electron–positron storage ring, was rebuilt and its two experimental regions were occupied by the Crystal–Ball detector (from the USA) and a new detector named ARGUS, both of which recorded data in 1982.
