Abstract

Abstract This chapter will consider the use of High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) to manage pain arising in a cancer population. This chapter covers the scientific principles underlying HIFU and the safety considerations and potential adverse events, as well as practical considerations in treatment delivery and the use of HIFU in painful conditions; the chapter concludes with a list of key learning points.
