Abstract In order to improve the stealth ability of the jet system of the engine, RCS calculation had been achieved through three steps, which were preprocess, core calculation and reprocessing. Some engine set as reference, the RCS of tail jet pipes with difference shapes had been calculated. The results show that the plug type tail pipe can advance stealth capability of the jet system. The numerical examples indicated the RCS calculation could play notable function in stealth design and promotion of engines.
