Abstract
Chinese Area Positioning System (CAPS) navigation application requires a novel terminal antenna with multiple beams, which can be electronically scanning. This paper presents a novel eight-beam C-band phased array antenna system for CAPS terminal. Each beam has the gain of more than 20dB. The eight beams are realized and separately steered in the same aperture, which overcomes the disadvantage of single beam of a mechanical scanning antenna.
