Abstract

Lansoprazole (Zoton - Lederle) is a proton pump inhibitor recently licensed for the treatment of duodenal ulcer, benign gastric ulcer or reflux oesophagitis. It is structurally related to omeprazole, which has now been available in the UK for 6 years. In this article we consider the place of lansoprazole in the treatment of patients with acid-related digestive tract disorders.
