Abstract

Venezuela has long term plans to be an exporter of natural gas. Two LNG schemes are under discussion as well as a gas pipeline to Argentina. Much of the gas required for these ambitious projects, however, has yet to be produced and, if anything, Venezuela is short of gas at present. For this reason, it has just agreed to build a pipeline to import natural gas from Colombia.
