Abstract
Scene A sister’s office in a mixed ward for patients who have been in hospital for some years. The sister and two student nurses are just about to sit down after the early activity of stirring the patients into getting up and going out of the ward for work or treatment. A conversation between the sister, a student and one of the patients has been of special interest, and the sister wants to talk it over.
