Abstract
Thirty-eight consecutive cases of infectious mononucleosis were observed. Antibiotics were prescribed for some because of actual or suspected secondary infections. It was noted that all 13 patients who had received ampicillin developed a characteristic skin rash unlike that seen in mononucleosis.
