Abstract

This paper was presented to a combined meeting of the Institution of Engineers, Australia and session p of the fourth Australian Road Research Board conference. It refers briefly to the organization and responsibility for road research in New Zealand, and reviews recent developments and existing research capability. It also outlines some typical New Zealand roading problems and concludes with some particular observations on the objectives of research.
