Abstract

The period of schooling for some children is one of the good times and the most awaited by children. But in reality, not all children feel that the school is a fun time. This can be caused by many things. One of these is when children have negative experiences when children are in school. In accordance with the titles of the other research, the research question is how is the school phobias that happened in elementary school children, why the child can experience school phobia, school phobia how the process of formation of elementary school children, and how to handle the child's elementary school phobia. This study aimed to see the picture of school phobia occurs in elementary school children, why children can have a phobia of school, how the formation process in elementary school phobia, school phobia and ways of handling the child's primary research was conducted using qualitative methods or approaches based on case study which are intrinsic, that is the case taken by an interesting case to study. In accordance with the problems faced and how the solution of which must be done and the purpose of research, the characteristics of the subjects in this study were elementary school children who have school phobia due to traumatic experiences in their schools. In this study, used a standardized interview guide with an open, namely the interview guide used to remind researchers about aspects of what should be discussed or inquiries, as well as a list if the gossiper relevant aspects have been reviewed or asked questions. In addition, researchers also use the unstructured interview guide, namely the question of outlook, attitude, beliefs about the subject or other details may be brought freely to the subject. Subjects are given the freedom to express his views and describes the answer as they wished. Observations made on the subject of direct observation. The results showed that the subjects experienced school phobia because of negative experiences suffered by the subject while in school. In addition, the subject's father was also adopted authoritarian parenting that caused the child afraid to go to school. Advice given to the subject is a subject that is more courageous to face the school environment and lessons, so hopefully there is progress learning to improve learning achievement in school subjects. In addition, the subject is expected to be able to adapt to the teachers and friends at school.
