Abstract

Effects of waterlogging stress on physiological characteristics of flue-cured tobacco(Nicotiana tabacum L.CV.K326) leaves were studied in field experiment at mature period. Results showed that under waterlogging condition, chlorophyll content and soluble protein conten of flue-cured tobacco leaves reduced slowly in the earlier period, then reduced fast.As waterlogging time proceeded,MDA content of flue-cured tobacco leaves increased fast.Activities of SOD,POD,and CAT of flue-cured tobacco leaves increased during early stage of waterlogging, then descended, but activity of POD incresed more slowly than that of SOD and CAT.The physiological characteristics of flue-cured tobacco leaves were seriously hurt and can hardly recover after 3 days of waterlogging.
