Abstract

[Objective]To study a method for determining lead and cadmium in urine using atomic absorption spectrometry.[Methods]Lead and cadmium in urine were determined by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry on the pattern of standard additions, but optimized the matrix modifier and the parameters of graphite furnace.Under the condition, a method which could determine lead and cadmium only using one sample with the same treatment was set up.[Results]Under this conditions, the linear range of lead was at 0-60μg/L,its recovery rate was 96.81%-101.06%,detecting limit was 0.0028μg/L, and its relative standard deviation of precision was 0.97%-3.24%.The linear range of cadmium was at 0-3μg/L,its recovery rate was 99.02%-100.34%,detecting limit was 0.0022μg/L,and its relative standard deviation of precision was 0.68%-3.05%. [Conclusion]The method based on this sdudy was accurate, sensitive, cheap and convenient. It could be used for health supervision of the people who exposed to lead and cadmium, and also for diagnosis, treatment, therapeutic evaluation of toxic effect to human by lead or cadmium.
