Abstract
In vitro irradiation of lymphocytes of the peripheral blood of mice produced changes in the second fluorescence of lymphocytes during the first hours after irradiation; therefore, the method may be used to study the early radiation effects. Definite mechanisms in changes of fluorescence intensity of irradiated cells were evident during the development of radiation injury, and a ratio between radiation effect and radiation dose was established. A relation between the magnitude of radiation effect and the intensity of fluorescence before irradiation, the original functional level of lymphocytes, was established. (OTS)
