Open full text 8 citations

Abstract

Warfarin interacts with various antibiotics with varying clinical significance. Two patients who were stable on warfarin had clinically significant increases in INRs when azithromycin was introduced. In one, the increased INR was associated with asymptomatic alterations in liver function tests. We believe close monitoring ofINR is warranted when patients are treated concurrently with warfarin and azithromycin.
