Abstract

Transit-oriented development (TOD) is a key strategy being used by planning and transportation professionals to curb growth, reduce traffic congestion, provide transportation choices, and improve quality of life. TOD alone will not solve our transport problems, but is an important contributor toward this end. This chapter explores TOD from a transportation planner's perspective.
