Abstract

Parallel to the technical development of the New Austrian Tunnelling Method the corresponding contractual considerations undergo a continuous process of adaption and improvement. It is of great importance to establish basic contractual principles for each specific project and to prepare a comprehensive specification which will cover any situation developing on site. Any far reaching generalization of contract conditions should be avoided. Each contract must be seen on its own merits and in the light of the contractural aspects explained in the paper.
