This research study was initiated to make an examination of the general hay market in Montana.Attention was given to the marketing practices of hay buyers and sellers, efficiency of the present market structure with respect to grading, distribution and other price considerations, and finally, the impact of recent developments in hay processing on the Montana hay market.Harston9 committee chairman, under whose guidance this research was under taken.His encouragementj .council,and most of all his, general research philosophy have contributed substantially'to this thesis.A very special note of appreciation is extended to Dr. Jack R.
