Abstract

. An experiment conducted was during summer 1993 and 1994 at Kharagpur, to study the influence of fertilizer and, water on yield, water-use-efficiency and nutrient uptake In J 1 1 groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.). Signlficant Increase In pod yleld was recorded at IW : CPE ratio 0.60, with an average yield of 1,903 kg/ ha. Among the fertilizer treatments, the crop responded signlflcantly at fertilizer level of 30 kg N, 60 kg P20, and 30 kg K20/ha and increase in yleld was 30% hlgher than lower level. Water-use efficiency was also Increased at IW : CPE -- ratio of 0.60 and nutrient level of 30 kg N, 60 kg P205 and 30 kg &O/ha. Uptake of NPK was higher up to 0.8 lW :CPE ratio and fert~l~zer level of 30 kg N, 60 kg P20, and 30 kg &O/ha.
