Abstract

Chemical equilibrium shifts in homogeneous systems can be analysed using rigorous thermodynamic equations based on the method considering characteristic functions for various parameter sets. These functions are molar thermodynamic potentials. Resulting thermodynamic equations are derived and the meaning of coefficients in these equations is discussed. Examples are given to show the application of this approach to the thermodynamic analysis of the chemical equilibrium.
