Akut Poststreptokoksik Glomerülonefrite Bağlı Gelişen Hızlı İlerleyici Glomerülonefrit

The eventual outcome of acute poststreptococcal glomerulonephiritis is quite benign in most cases. Rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis is a rare form of postinfectious glomerulonephritis. Rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis defined as acute nephritic syndrome with dramatic loss of renal function within a few months, is diagnosed histopathologically with the presence of crescents in ≥50% of the samples. This patient achieving a good clinical prognosis overall. Early diagnosis and treatment of rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis is important to preserve renal function, which is a key factor for achieving a good prognosis. Our case is a 11-year-old male who presented with glomerulonephritis after onset of skin infection. He was diagnosed as crescentic glomerulonephritis in kidney biopsy. This case has been reported because rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis developing after acute poststreptoccoccal glomerulonephiritis is rare and has a good prognosis after treatment.
