Abstract
Curved free-standing canopy roofs are widely used for many structures. Compared with enclosed building, these roofs are more sensitive to wind loads. In this paper, wind tunnel experiments have been carried out to investigate wind loads on the curved free-standing canopy roof. Wind pressures were measured at many points on the upeer and lower surfaces of the roof models simultaneously. The effects of the rise/span ratio and wind direction on the distribution of mean wind pressure coefficients were investigated in this paper. Based on the results, the wind load shape factors for wind-resistant design of curved free-standing canopy roofs are proposed with different rise/span ratios, which can provide reference for windresistant design for the curved free standing roofs
