In Indian banking sectors Mergers and Acquisitions has become admired trend throughout the country. A large number of public sector bank, private sector bank and other banks are engaged in mergers and acquisitions activities in India. Mergers and acquisitions represent a widely used technique to increase the rate of growth in the size of the firm as well as its market share. Banking sector is the most leading in India has been among the top performers in the markets. Banks being a front line financial institutions in our economy working under intense and healthy competition. Indian banks have opted for Mergers and Acquisitions as a strategic tool for global entry mode and expansion in future. Mergers and Acquisitions is a pre-requisite that lead banks to the phase of consolidation amongst banks in future.
