Effect of negative-pressure wound therapy on diabetic foot with recurrence ulcers

Abstract
OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of negative-pressure wound therapy on diabetic foot with recurrence ulcers,so as to provide references for clinical treatment.METHODS A total of 123 cases of diabetic foot patients from Mar.2012 to Jan.2016 were collected,including 57 cases in starting ulcer group and 66 cases in recurrence ulcer group.Patients in the two groups were treated with negative-pressure wound therapy,the wound healing situations at 3~13 weeks after treatment were observed,and the effects of the two groups were compared.RESULTS The cure rates were 36.84%in starting ulcer group,and 19.70% in recurrence ulcer group,and the difference of the two groups was significant(P<0.05).The inefficiency rates were 7.02% in starting ulcer group,and 21.21%in recurrence ulcer group,and the difference of the two groups was significant(P<0.05).CONCLUSIONCompared to the starting ulcer,the effect of negative-pressure wound therapy on diabetic foot with recurrence ulcers is poor,which may be associated with the long duration of diabetes,high glycemic level,high rate of peripheral artery disease and high rate of mix infection.
