Abstract

In recent two decades, proposing Functional Determiner Phrase (FDP) has revolutionized the Noun Phrase(NP) analysis. For instance, a set of particular functional projections are used at levels upper than Noun. At levels upper than NP in Mashouri Dialect (MD), functional determiners and Ezafe Phrases are used. The functional phrases related to Noun did not project any semantic function, but each added particular syntactic properties to Noun Phrase. Functional Determiner Phrase added an appropriate meaning and structure to Noun Phrase through syntactic properties of determiners. Ezafe Phrase expanded the Noun Phrase through Ezafe syntactic properties and adjunction relations. This study described and explained the functional phrases related to Noun Phrase. The results showed that the functional phrases related to noun in MD were Determiner Phrase and Ezafe Phrase. The Ezafe Phrase was used at levels upper than Determiner Phrase.
