Abstract
Several reasons to evaluate a new or existing vendor are discussed in detail. The important role that a vendor has in the success of the organization is presented. Critical questions to be asked before the selection of a new vendor or evaluating an existing one are presented with solutions. Several examples of successful and unsuccessful methods improvement in a new or a revision of an existing manufacturing process are presented with the critical questions that were asked that resulted in success as well as the critical questions that were not asked that resulted in failure.
