Abstract

This introduction chapter provides a brief explanation of the key construct of e Government and the use of technology to provide public services to citizens. The chapter highlights what is already known about the adoption of e-government, the current gaps in literature in the problem statement and the justification for conducting this research. An introduction to the structure and function of UAE public sector is also presented. The objectives of the research, the research questions, research framework and hypotheses are also highlighted in this chapter. In this chapter the research methodology, scope, and thesis structure are also outlined. The intention of the research is to develop a deeper understanding of the factors influencing the adoption of e government in public sector organizations.
