The spread of Taenia and the cases of infection are more prevalent in the tropics area. The most feared and dangerous health impact due to the larvae of Taenia worm is neurocysticercosis that can cause death. The prevalence in Indonesia range from 0.02 to 2.6% and the highest rate is in Papua. Taeniasis can be prevented by keep personal hygiene, cook beef/pork well, completely patient treatment and good surveillance ofslaughterhouse. Keyword: taeniasis, Taenia solium, Taenia saginata, neurocysticercosis
