Saving fuel; Time to get back on track

Abstract

This article addresses the necessity of increasing automobile fuel efficiency. The author reviews the unutilized fuel efficiency systems developed by automakers in response to the oil crisis of 1973 as well as systems and technology currently under development. The need for government impetus to induce utilization of more fuel efficient automobile systems is discussed.
