Abstract
The present master thesis studies the conditions under which Museums and Collections of Typography and Graphic Arts Technology are established and operate both in Greece and abroad, as well as the comparison of the current situation. Initially, a brief historical review of the evolution of typography is made, as well as its importance in the modern era. Then, an extensive record of museums and collections of typography, printing and graphic arts technology in Greece is developed, as well as their structure, operation and characteristics. The following are the most important museums and collections of typography, printing and graphic arts abroad and the ways of their utilization. Then an attempt is made to compare the situation of museums and collections in Greece and abroad regarding their exhibits but also overall how they operate and utilize. Finally, there are the conclusions that emerged from the analysis of the topics of the master thesis and the research that was carried out, and then there are suggestions for future research.
